Who Am I
I migrated in 1988 from Malaysia, am married, have three children and reside in the Blacktown. I'm currently employed as Community Corrections Officer formerly known as Probation & Parole. I have worked in various employment including with Juvenile offenders. My qualifications include a Diploma in Social Science, Associate Diploma in Business Catering and recently obtained my Diploma in Counselling. I am a member of the SydWest Multicultural Services, Blacktown Council Community Safety Advisory Sub-Committee, No Badgerys Creek Airport Inc., Council of Indian Australia (CIA) and Indian Australian Association of NSW Inc. (INDAUS).
I chose to be an Independent as I am not a Puppet to a party but my voice will be for the community. Over the years, I have watched and noticed that this electorate is being neglected and by-passed. I have conducted many protest to save houses for the community in Blacktown/Seven Hills against Council. Assisting residents by being involved in the following campaigns:
Saving Mt Druitt Pool
The Kings Langley Action Group
Save the Child Care Centre
Stop Pension Rate increase We as a community fought together as a group. There are many issues that needs to be addressed and together we would be able to achieve them. When you vote consider who will be best to represent you as an individual at all levels? Why I'm Running As An Independent
This area, we call our home, has always been ignored and left behind. Every time the Government wants to do something, they say “for Western Sydney” but their idea of Western Sydney is either Parramatta or Penrith. Blacktown is only considered for building high density houses. The Hospital has been upgraded and we can all see it, however, for a training school. Go into the emergency ward and you are seen by interns.
This is but one example of what I am standing for - Better Services for the Community.
Issues of Concern
Community deserve better hospital care. Public Dental services made available under Medicare for pensioners and low income earners. Waiting Periods should be slashed. Overhaul of services for the mentally ill and not discharged prematurely.
Education: Team building to prevent bullying in schools and funding made available for children with disability and low income families. Parents are helped to make ends meet to ensure that their children remain at school. Affordable child care and rebates provided.
Crime: Increase Street Police and ensure that the sentence fits the crime. Early intervention programs to reduce crime and more rehabilitation facilities be made available.
Disability: Disability services are overhauled and better services are provided. Ensure that adequate funding for people with disabilities to enable them to live an independent lifestyle & expand respite care.
Pensioners: Stop rate increase and ensure that services are available to enable them to live in dignity and safety, free from abuse. Retirees have worked and paid taxes and they should not be disadvantaged.
Housing: Waiting lists are too long and fewer houses are built by the Government and there is shortage of crises accommodation and this leaves vulnerable people on streets.
Workers: Are all entitled to fair wages, secure employment. Ensure that workers are protected from Government and not exploited.
Pacific Islander: Due to an agreement between the Australia and New Zealand Governments, Pacific Islanders that arrive after 2003 are now disadvantaged e.g. not entitled to any form of Centrelink housing, payment or any form of benefits.
Small Business: Playing a big part in our Australian economy, many are often disadvantaged by the larger corporations
Stop Corruption: Donations from Unions and Developers banned.
Public Ownership: Oppose privatisation of public utilities and services. DO NOT SELL AUSTRALIA TO FOREIGNERS.
